Dental Benefit Plans

Don’t Let Your Benefits Go To Waste

Can someone please explain to us where the first nine months of this year have gone?  We know if we are feeling this way, many of you are as well!  How many times do we say we are going to do something, then our daily life gets in the way.  All of the sudden, we have missed an opportunity.

Today, the team at Avalon Family Dentistry is here with a friendly reminder for those of you who have insurance benefits!  The majority of dental benefit plans still run on a traditional calendar year.  This means that between the beginning ofJanuary to the end of December, each person who is on your plan has a predetermined amount of benefit they are entitled to use during that period.  It is usually between $1000 and $2000.

This allottment is a “use it or lose it” benefit.  It does not carryover to the next year.

Has Dr. Lee or Dr. Hannah made recommendations that you have not scheduled yet?  Are there things you have contemplated wanting to do?  Like a dental wish list?  Maybe Invisalign, a Nightguard, replacing old amalgam fillings that annoy you when you look in the mirror?  Now is the time to call!  Cristi is happy to check your benefits to see if you might get some help with these “wishlist” items, and will help you schedule those recommended items, as well!

Here is another important question……..How many of you have an FSA (flexible spending account) or HSA (healtcare savings account)?  Is there money remaining, especially in that FSA, because those moneys will not carry over to the next year, either.  If you have not determined where to allot those funds, invest in your oral health!

Fall is going to pass so much quicker than we all think! Please do not wait to call to schedule!  We do not want you to miss out on amazing opportunities with your benefits!  This year, the holdidays are falling in such a way that our time in the office is a bit more limited!

November also brings upon us “Open Enrollment”.  This is the time you choose your benefits for 2022 and your monetary allotment for your FSA.  Do not hesitate to reach our so we can help you make the best decisions for your oral health.

You can reach Cristi at (253)941-6365.  You can also text the office directly at (253)200-4565.  Cristi cannot wait to hear from you.
